Lin Zhentian, a prominent underworld boss in the metropolis, grows weary of a life of bloodshed and resolves to leave the criminal world to start a family with his young, beautiful fiancée, Li Wei. However, Li Wei has been secretly colluding with her old lover, Lu Ziming, plotting to poison Lin Zhentian on their wedding day to seize his massive fortune. Lin Zhentian discovers their affair by chance but remains composed, deciding to turn the tables by setting up elaborate traps. On the wedding day, Lin Zhentian publicly exposes their misconduct while pretending to be blindly in love, transferring his company shares to Li Wei, all while drawing her deeper into his trap. Desperate to unlock funds, Li Wei sells her assets, borrows from friends and family, and even turns against her own mother and brother. Li Wei, Lu Ziming, Li's mother, and Li Yong are subsequently arrested by the police on charges including fraud and attempted murder.
